DECEPTION BAY SHS LEARNING PLAN

The aim of the Deception Bay SHS Learning Plan is to create a learning culture that engages learners and encourages curiosity to improve student achievement. This aim underpins all school planning and teaching to ensure every student receives the support needed to engage purposefully in learning and experience academic success. This has been achieved through systematic curriculum delivery, data analysis and the Deception Bay SHS Pedagogical Toolbox.

DECEPTION BAY SHS LEARNING CYCLE

The Learning is organised through the Deception Bay SHS Learning Cycle, a sequence of elements- Curriculum Standards/Pedagogy/ Assessment/Moderation/Feedback, with each one responsive to the others.

RECHARGE

At Deception Bay SHS we believe that all students should have the opportunity to reach their potential. The aim of the Recharge program is to allow students who require extra support with their studies to remain behind on a Friday afternoon and work with key staff while allowing teachers to meet together to engage in professional learning time. This time for teachers will ensure Deception Bay SHS can continue to build on its strong academic culture ensuring all learners thrive.

During Recharge teachers come together to pool their knowledge of effective teaching into a collaborative approach to planning around curriculum, instruction and assessment and professional learning.
